Important information regarding 2017-2018 state and commercially developed assessments, including graduation requirements, is detailed in a letter from Dr. Meloche and an accompanying chart. All parents are strongly encouraged to read these documents.
Each year, we ask parents to complete important beginning-of-the-year "paperwork" on the Parents portal of this web site to ensure all student information is up-to-date. The portal includes full, step-by-step instructions for this process, with links applicable to your child's or children's grade level(s). Families unable to complete this process online may pick up paper forms at the main office of their school(s). If you have not already, please complete this important information as soon as possible. Incorrect information could mean you will not receive emergency notifications from your school or from the District. If you have any questions, please contact the main office of your child's school.
In addition to the 12 informal "Saturday Morning Coffee" meetings at our elementary schools to discuss our long-range Strategic Plan and the 2018 Bond Referendum, Dr. Meloche will hold weekday meetings and Sunday afternoon meetings in our other buildings. Please see the 2020 Meeting Schedule for a complete list of dates, times and locations!
South Coles Road between the Maple Shade border and the Church Road Circle/Route 38 will be under construction starting on or around Wednesday 10/11/2017. This is a roughly two-month project to improve the roadway including concrete repairs and complete resurfacing. The work days will be Monday through Friday mainly between 9 am and 3:30 pm, with some occasional days where the work starts at 7 am and ends at 4 pm. Police will be on location assisting with traffic control.
This project will lead to higher than usual congestion at the north side of the Circle intersection.
Please plan accordingly and expect delays.
Road construction on Chapel Ave. westbound toward Merchantville continues, with considerable delays in that area. The Chapel Ave. construction project is expected to continue through November.
On August 22, 2017, the Board of Education adopted Policy 8550: Unpaid Meal Charges/Outstanding Food Service Charges. This policy details the management of a student's breakfast or lunch bill that is in arrears.

The District will maintain this status for three years, through 2019. The District will be honored at a recognition ceremony during the NJASECD Conference in May at Rider University. The District application now will be forwarded to character.org for consideration as a 2017 National District of Character.
Congratulations to District of Character Committee Chair Dr. Kirk Rickansrud and his team for a job well done in assembling the lengthy and detailed application to earn this prestigious designation.
