CHPS Earns Recognition as NJ 2017 District of Character

The New Jersey Alliance for Social, Emotional and Character Development (NJASECD) has named the Cherry Hill Public Schools a 2017 New Jersey District of Character. The District will maintain this status for three years, through 2019. The District will be honored at a recognition ceremony during the NJASECD Conference in May at Rider University. The District application now will be forwarded to character.org for consideration as a 2017 National District of Character.

Congratulations to District of Character Committee Chair Dr. Kirk Rickansrud and his team for a job well done in assembling the lengthy and detailed application to earn this prestigious designation.

Meeting for Parents of Special Ed Students at Rosa and Beck

Parents of students in the Special Education programs at Rosa and Beck Middle Schools are invited to attend an information session regarding the transition plan for changes to the program for the 2017-2018 school year on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Beck Middle School, 6:30 pm.

Kindergarten Registration Dates Now Available
Kindergarten/first grade registration for children entering public school for the first time begins on March 7, 2017 at the Malberg Administration Building, 45 Ranoldo Terrace.Children must be 5 years old by October 1, 2017 to be eligible for kindergarten. It is not necessary to bring your child to register. Please note the following dates for the following schools:

Horace Mann: March 9

Clara Barton: March 14

Joseph Sharp: March 15

Using the first letter of your last name, please come to the Malberg Administration Building at 45 Ranoldo Terrace during the time slots listed below. Please allow one hour for this process. If the parent or guardian is unable to register at the designated time, a family member or friend may do so with proper ID and must also have a copy of the parent or guardian's license or State ID.

Important Information on New PARCC Graduation Requirements

On August 3, 2016 the State Board of Education approved updated state regulations for the high school graduation assessments requirements in both English language arts (ELA) and mathematics for the Classes of 2017 through 2021, and beyond.

Barclay Early Childhood Center Applications Now Available, Deadline March 1, 2017

The Barclay Early Childhood Center application for the 2017-2018 school year is now available by clicking here. Please read the information carefully. Students need to be 3 or 4 years old by October 1, 2017. Applications are to be completed and mailed to our Malberg Administration Building, 45 Ranoldo Terrace, by March 1, 2017 at 4 pm. If you have any questions regarding the Application process, kindly contact Barclay's Main Office at 856-429-7283 x4010.

Open Houses will be held Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 2 pm and Monday, February 13, 2017 at 6:30 pm for PARENTS ONLY. RSVP to Colleen Thompson at cthompson@chclc.org OR 856-429-7283 x4010. Applications will also be available at the Open House and in Barclay's Main Office.
