Reminder to Complete Important Back-to-School "Paperwork"

Each year, we ask parents to complete important beginning-of-the-year "paperwork" on the Parents portal of this web site to ensure all student information is up-to-date. The portal includes full, step-by-step instructions for this process, with links applicable to your child's or children's grade level(s). Families unable to complete this process online may pick up paper forms at the main office of their school(s). If you have not already, please complete this important information as soon as possible. Incorrect information could mean you will not receive emergency notifications from your school or from the District. If you have any questions, please contact the main office of your child's school.

Road Construction on South Coles Road to Cause Delays Beginning October 11

South Coles Road between the Maple Shade border and the Church Road Circle/Route 38 will be under construction starting on or around Wednesday 10/11/2017. This is a roughly two-month project to improve the roadway including concrete repairs and complete resurfacing. The work days will be Monday through Friday mainly between 9 am and 3:30 pm, with some occasional days where the work starts at 7 am and ends at 4 pm. Police will be on location assisting with traffic control. The impact to traffic will be from one of three patterns, varying throughout the project depending on the type of work being performed:

  • Lane Shift: Traffic will be shifted slightly to one side of Coles or the other, when work in the shoulder and just beyond the shoulder is occurring. Both directions will stay open the entire time but with slightly narrower lanes.
  • Alternating Traffic: Traffic will be permitted in both directions but only using one lane so it will be moving ONE DIRECTION AT A TIME. Flaggers will allow cars in one direction to move while the other direction waits, and then reverse and will let the waiting traffic go.
  • Detour: When the Detour plan is in effect, northbound Coles Road will be closed at the Circle, with local traffic detouring onto Church Road and then onto Delwood Road back out to Coles on the other side of the work zone. All traffic coming southbound from Maple Shade into Cherry Hill will continue travel as normal. Local residents of the Delwood neighborhood will have access in and out of their streets maintained.
  • *** Trucks must follow the TRUCK ROUTE DETOUR of Church Road to Haddonfield Road northbound, to Maple Ave eastbound. Vehicles weighing more than 5 tons are NOT permitted on Delwood Road***

When this work begins, the Detour plan will be used for Wednesday 10/11 through Wednesday 10/18, followed by the Lane Shift pattern.

This project will lead to higher than usual congestion at the north side of the Circle intersection.

Please plan accordingly and expect delays.

Road construction on Chapel Ave. westbound toward Merchantville continues, with considerable delays in that area. The Chapel Ave. construction project is expected to continue through November.
