CONCUSSION/BRAIN INJURY
-
Concussion is a traumatic brain injury caused by a direct or indirect blow to the head or body. A child may or may not lose consciousness when suffering a concussion. A student that has, or who is suspected of sustaining a concussion or head injury, must be evaluated by a medical professional to determine their status and ability to participate in academics and activities.
Cherry Hill School District has developed policy and regulations regarding brain injury. Please see attachment below for more detailed information.
Also please see other attachment for general information about mild brain injury in children.
If your child sustains a head injury you are encouraged to consult with your physician to determine the need for medical evaluation and treatment. If you have any questions, or your child hurts his/her head, please notify the school nurse.
