Handwashing

  • Handwashing is the single most effective form of preventing the spread of illness.

We have an active handwashing campaign going on in school.

    Students should wash hands
    • before eating
    • after using the toilet
    • after playing outside
    • after coughing, sneezing or blowing their noses
    • after handling pets (especially birds and reptiles)

    Effective handwashing includes:

    • Using soap and water
    • Rubbing hands together, covering all surfaces and creating a lather
    • Rubbing for at least 15 to 20 seconds (we teach them to sing the "ABC Song")
    • Rinse and dry thoroughly
Signs are posted all over the school reminding children and adults to
    WASH YOUR HANDS!!
