If Your Child is Sick . . .
-
If your child is sick
- with a temperature of 100 degrees F or higher within 24 hours
- has persistent, productive cough
- vomiting and/or diarrhea within the last 24 hours
- rash
He/she should stay home and not return to school until symptom free for 24 hours.. In the case of fever, students should be fever free (less 100 degrees Fahrenheit)for a full 24 hours (WITHOUT the use of fever reducing medications like ibuprofen or acetaminophen). I will send home any child who presents with the above mentioned symptoms while in school.
Please let me know if your child is under treatment for any communicable illness such as,- Strep infection
- Chicken pox
- Pneumonia
- Conjunctivitis (pink eye)
- Fifth Disease
We do have some students who are immuno-compromised and are at risk of severe infection if exposed to these illnesses. Also, some of the illnesses can affect pregnant women or their fetus. Pregnant women need to be aware of any potential danger to their unborn child.
