Elementary School Standards-Based Report Cards

In the Cherry Hill Public Schools, student achievement in our standards-based educational environment is predicated on providing clear expectations in regards to what students should know (content knowledge), what students should understand (enduring understandings), and what students should be able to do (skills) based on the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS).

Our instructional program allows for differentiated instruction and continuous assessment in order to meet the educational needs of each student. The SBRC details your child’s progress along a developmental continuum of learning. The performance level indicators as noted below specify your child’s performance according to grade-level expectations/standards. At the end of each marking period, your child will be assigned a performance level indicator indicative of the level of understanding and application of the standards for that period. Therefore, if your child meets the marking period benchmark or is making adequate progress towards the attainment of the end-of-year standard, he or she may receive a “3.”

Performance Level Indicators

• 4 - Indicates an extended understanding and application of the skills included in the grade level NJSLS for the current reporting period.
• 3 - Indicates an expected understanding and application of the skills included in the grade level NJSLS for the current reporting period.
• 2 - Indicates a developing understanding and application of the skills included in the grade level NJSLS for the current reporting period.
• 1 - Indicates a minimal understanding and application of the skills included in the grade level NJSLS for the current reporting period.

The SBRC will be sent to you three times during the school year. In the SBRC envelope, you will find a 3-page SBRC and a parent comment card.
