Edward Wang, PhD
Edward Wang is a Professor of History at Rowan University, where he has taught for more than two decades. He was twice elected to the Wall of Fame for Excellence in Teaching by his students, many of whom have become public school teachers. He served as department chair for nine years and has been Coordinator of Asian Studies at the University since 2007.
Dr. Wang earned his Ph.D. from Syracuse University and has been an active researcher in his field. He is the author of many books, including the recently published Chopsticks: A Cultural and Culinary History (Cambridge University Press, 2015). He is a frequently invited speaker at international conferences in Asia, Europe, and North America, and served as secretary general (2005-15) of the International Commission of History and Theory of Historiography.
Having lived in South Jersey for more than 20 years (seven of which have been in Cherry Hill), Dr. Wang, whose son attends Stockton Elementary School, wishes to give back to our beloved community. He is excited to serve on the board and looks forward to working with all members of our community to improve the quality of education in our great schools.
