Jane Scarpellino, who is fulfilling one year of an unexpired Board seat, has more than 10 years of professional experience working in academic administration in Higher Education and as an attorney for the University of Connecticut. She also has been on the boards of several nonprofit organizations. She has been an active member of the PTA throughout her child’s school years and has served on and chaired a number of committees. Mrs. Scarpellino currently is a full-time mom and part-time grant writer. She primarily assists nonprofit and educational entities with grant writing. Her past professional experience includes working in Higher Education as an academic administrator and as an Assistant Attorney General in the Education Department for the State of Connecticut.
Mrs. Scarpellino volunteers weekly at WHYY in Philadelphia and is a regular volunteer with Urban Promise schools and ministries in Camden. She also is an active member of the PTA and has provided free grant writing services to Urban Promise and several other nonprofit organizations.
Mrs. Scarpellino has a JD from the University of Connecticut School of Law and BA in political science from Fairfield University. She has one child in the Cherry Hill school system. Mrs. Scarpellino and her family relocated to South Jersey eight years ago for her husband’s work. After extensive research, they choose to live in Cherry Hill because of the excellent schools.
