Community Partners for High School Senior Internships
It is a Board of Education goal to increase the number of Cherry Hill seniors completing an experiential learning opportunity or coursework aligned to their post-secondary interests.
The district currently has partners who provide experiences (“internships”) in healthcare, education, IT, law enforcement, local government, facilities management, and engineering for seniors in good academic standing. We are looking for more partners in these areas and new areas. Students are also encouraged to find their own experiences.
- Students attend 2-3 days /week (minimum of 5 hours/week) September - March
- Internships can be in the morning, the afternoon, or after school
- Internships are unpaid, but this is not meant to be free labor; students should be learning about the profession and participating in the activities of the organization
- All internships must be in-person
- Students apply for and interview for the positions in the spring of their junior year
Prospective Partner Information
- What is a CHPS Senior Internship?
- When does this happen?
- What is the responsibility of the partner organization and mentor?
- What are the limitations?
- Does the school provide insurance?
- What else do I need to know?
- How can I let Cherry Hill juniors know about my internship opportunities?
- I found a great student to join our team! What's next?
