Elementary Enrollment Balancing
Cherry Hill Public Schools is undertaking an elementary enrollment balancing effort to ensure every student has access to the best possible learning environment.
By achieving more balanced enrollment, we will ensure all students have access to resources, maintain optimal class sizes, and support the academic and social-emotional needs of all our young learners.
This thoughtful and necessary adjustment will strengthen our schools and community for years to come.
Where are we in the Elementary Enrollment Balancing process?

Community Input Sessions (November 2025)

Preliminary proposal presented at Board of Education meeting (January/February 2026)

Follow-up community input meetings (March 2026)

Finalize plan (June/July 2026)

Implementation of plan for 2027-2028 school year
What are the Board of Education's guardrails?
- Maximizing transportation efficiencies (costs and bus route times)
- Aligning special education programs to minimize costs and student time on buses
- Developing long-term solutions to overcrowding
A successful plan will address projected enrollment increases, minimize disruptions for students and families, align with the Board's guardrails, support the district's long-term goals, and ensure equitable access to resources.
