A Letter from the Superintendent

A Letter from the Superintendent

Dear Cherry Hill Public Schools Community,

I am excited to announce my recommendation to the Board of Education for the appointment of Dr. Scott Goldthorp as the Director of Special Projects and Student Services. In this role, Dr. Goldthorp will lead the district’s Student Services Department, overseeing key areas such as school counselors, student assistance counselors, the registration department, the district’s HIB (Harassment, Intimidation, and Bullying) process, and district nurses. Additionally, he will serve as the district’s Title IX Coordinator, Affirmative Action Officer, and 504 Coordinator.

Dr. Goldthorp is no stranger to Cherry Hill Public Schools, having dedicated 15 years of service to our district in various capacities. From 2007 to 2016, he served as a middle school mathematics and science teacher. He then transitioned into the role of Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction, focusing on mathematics and science, from 2016 to 2022. Since 2022, Dr. Goldthorp has been serving as an Assistant Superintendent in the Pittsgrove Township School District, where he has further honed his leadership skills.

Dr. Goldthorp is a collaborative leader, a systems thinker, and, above all, a child-first educator. His dedication to fostering student success and his ability to build strong, effective systems make him the ideal candidate to lead and enhance our Student Services Department. I have the utmost confidence that under his leadership, this department will continue to grow and expand, providing exceptional support to our students and families.

Dr. Goldthorp’s academic credentials are equally impressive. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Pennsylvania State University, a Master of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania, and both a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the American College of Education. The Board of Education will act on my recommendation at its meeting on December 16, 2025.

Thank you for your continued support of our schools and our shared mission to provide an exceptional education for every student.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kwame R. Morton signature

Dear Cherry Hill Community,

I am pleased to share exciting news regarding two key administrative recommendations that will be presented for Board of Education action on December 16, 2025. I am eager to recommend Mr. George Zografos as the Supervisor of School Counseling for Cherry Hill Public Schools.

Mr. Zografos is a familiar and highly respected figure in our district, having dedicated over 20 years of service to Cherry Hill Public Schools in various capacities. Since 2013, he has served as an assistant principal, first at Rosa Middle School and most recently at High School East, where he has been instrumental in supervising the school counseling team. Prior to his administrative roles, Mr. Zografos worked as a guidance counselor from 2009 to 2013, serving both Rosa Middle School and High School East. His career in Cherry Hill began as a math teacher at Rosa Middle School from 2004 to 2009.

Mr. Zografos is a passionate advocate for students and a leader who deeply believes in the power of education to transform lives. I am confident that his extensive experience, dedication, and vision will bring tremendous value to our district counseling team and, most importantly, to our students.

Additionally, I am pleased to recommend Dr. Kirk Rickansrud as the Interim Assistant Principal at High School East, succeeding Mr. Zografos. Having retired from Cherry Hill Public Schools in 2021, Dr. Rickansrud brings a wealth of experience, having served as both a principal and assistant principal at the elementary and secondary levels. Dr. Rickansrud is a student-centered leader who values strong relationships, fosters academic excellence, and supports the growth of all learners.

I am confident that both Mr. Zografos and Dr. Rickansrud will excel in their respective roles, and I look forward to the positive impact they will have on our students, staff, and community. Thank you for your continued support and your commitment to the success and well-being of our students during this time of transition.

Sincerely,
