Co-Curricular activities (officially termed Leadership Development Requirement activities) are a critical component of a successful AFJROTC unit. These activities are AFJROTC-sponsored and school-approved events conducted outside classroom hours. Activities are planned, organized, and executed by the cadet corps and supervised by the SASI or ASI. The following are co-curricular activities planned for AY20:
- Most Mondays after school: Color Guard
- Most Thursdays after school: Rocketry, Raider Team or other activity
- Occasional Wednesday or Thursday after school when scheduled and approved in advance by SASI or ASI: staff training, staff work, additional team practice or other activity
- Presenting Colors at home football games, teacher in-service and designated community events that occur throughout school year
- Paintball or Airsoft Event (April or May)
- 1x Drill or Raider Team Competition (March or April)
- AFJROTC Military Ball (14 February)
- Community or School Service Events (throughout school year)
- Fundraising Event (October)
- Annual Field Trip (December)
- Annual Awards Ceremony (21 May)
- Cadet Leadership Course (1st week of summer recess/last week of June)
The above activities are planned but subject to change depending on school, JROTC, and unforeseen events. Most co-curricular events are posted on the AFJROTC master calendar.
