Application Deadline for 2023 P-EBT Program for Summer Meal Help Is 6/16/23
Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) is a program to help families purchase food for their child(ren) eligible for free or reduced-price school meals at a school that participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or School Breakfast Program (SBP).
Summer P-EBT extends benefits during the summer months following a school year during which there was a COVID-19 public health emergency.
For families who have NOT submitted a free meal application for the 2022-2023 school year, applications are due June 16, 2023.

Summer Music Enrichment Program Enrollment Now Open
The CHPS Summer Music Enrichment Program, featuring small group classes in instrumental music introduction and music theory from July 5-27, 2023, is now taking enrollment applications. Classes include Beginning Band & Orchestra; Intermediate Orchestra; Intermediate Band; and Jazz Ensemble. All classes are open to Cherry Hill residents in grades 4-12. Credit Opinion for CHPS Bond Released
Moody's Investor's Service has released their Credit Opinion for the Cherry Hill Public School District, as the district prepares to sell the bonds approved in a public vote on October 6, 2022.
Moody's has assigned the district a rating of Aa2, the third highest rating available.
The one "credit challenge" listed, "narrow reserve position compared to peers," reflects the fact that, by law, the school district is limited in how much money it can keep in reserve.

WE are committed to access across the district, with projects completed, projects in progress, and projects planned. Our Capital Reserve Funds provide the foundational funds for one-time expenses to improve educational spaces, make investments in existing infrastructure and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Dr. Joseph Meloche Named 2021 NJ Superintendent of the Year
WE congratulate our Superintendent, Dr. Joseph Meloche, for being named the 2021 New Jersey Association of School Administrators State Superintendent of the Year!
Dr. Meloche is now a candidate for the National Superintendent of the Year Award by the American Association of School Administrators' (AASA). He will be formally acknowledged by the New Jersey State Board of Education at their Annual Recognition Ceremony on December 2nd.
NJASA Executive Director Dr. Richard G. Bozza said, "Joe is a dedicated hard-working professional who continually strives to improve the quality of education for all students. He exemplifies the best a chief education officer can be."
In accepting this prestigious honor, Dr. Meloche said, "This recognition reaffirms my belief that the superintendent provides the critically essential leadership required to afford an academic environment of excellence throughout the district which embraces diversity while motivating and engaging all students to be successful as scholars and as people.”
He continued, “I thank NJASA, the Cherry Hill Board of Education and all district and community involved stakeholders for their support and I look forward to representing New Jersey’s chief education officers on the national level.”
Under Dr. Meloche’s leadership, significant strategic planning processes harnessed the voices and perspectives of a vast cross section of the community resulting in the development of a new mission statement, the creation and launching of full day kindergarten in the district, and the development of multi-year strategic goals. Announcement Regarding the Hybrid Learning Model 11/11/20
At the Board of Education Work Session on Tuesday evening 11/10/20, Dr. Meloche discussed his follow-up conversation with the Camden County Department of Health regarding the return of Hybrid Learning Model students to our buildings. The Department of Health recommended on Tuesday, 11/10/20 that our students may return to our buildings. We plan to welcome back Hybrid Learning students in Cohort A beginning Tuesday, November 17, and Hybrid Learning students in Cohort B beginning Wednesday, November 18. Special Education students in Cohort A/B will return beginning Tuesday, November 17 and attend Tuesday-Friday each week.

Middle School Student and Superintendent Testify at NJ Assembly Education Committee Hearing
Beck Middle School 7th grader Ebele Azikiwe and CHPS Superintendent Dr. Joseph Meloche testified at the October 22, 2020 NJ Assembly Education Committee hearing, in favor of Bill A3601, which requires public schools to include instruction on accomplishments and contributions of African Americans to American Society.

Free & Reduced Price Meal Applications Now Available
Now is the time to apply for Free and Reduced Price Meals for the 2020-2021 school year. A letter of explanation in English and in Spanish is available to interested families.
For the fastest response, we strongly encourage families to apply online.
Families may print copies of the application in English and Spanish. Paper applications also are available at the Malberg Administration Building, 45 Ranoldo Terrace.

Superintendent's Speech at Juneteenth Demostration Available Online
Cherry Hill Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Joseph Meloche spoke on Friday, June 19, 2020 - Juneteenth - at the "Learning Begins Now; Stop the Ignorance" demonstration organized by the Cherry Hill High School East African American Culture Club. The demonstration included a march from the Whole Foods parking lot at Kings Highway and Route 70 to the Cherry Hill Public Library parking lot, where several student leaders and Dr. Meloche spoke. Procedure for Placing Restrictions on Meal Accounts
Parents who wish to place restrictions on their child's meal account are asked to call the Food Service office at (856) 424-2316 or email Operations Director Anne King at King-Anne@aramark.com
Parents may stipulate the following:- No breakfast- No second meals- Limits on particular snacks, for example: no fruit snacks, no ice creamIf a parent places a restriction on a child's account, the child will not be able to buy the restricted item(s), even if the child brings in money for the particular item(s).
